Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina) Abstract The "New Production of Knowledge" organizes a perspective that discusses the way in which universities produce and deliver knowledge. This work analyzes its characteristics and impacts on curriculum, professionals’ background, teaching methods and diffusion of outcomes. In addition, it is examined the distinctions between discipline and trans-discipline, comparing them to the notion of inter-discipline. Finally, the work examines the critics’ interpretations and the questions derivated from the model in relation to the particular aspects of university education.
